Submitting Art Files
To Guarantee the Best Quality, Please Follow These Guidelines:
- Digital artwork must be submitted in acceptable formats only.
- We can recreate or make your art printable for an additional fee.
- We can not use website graphics. They are a very low resolution and unsuitable for screen printing.
Applications Accepted
- Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, TIFF, PDF, EPS and JPEG files are accepted.
- Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel or any word processing programs are not accepted. These applications do not allow for color separations.
- We can receive files via DVD, CD, Flash Drive or Email.
- Emailed files should be compressed using WINZIP if they are over 3MB.
Art Requirements for Text or Spot Color Designs
- All files must be in the following vector based formats: .ai, .psd, .pdf, .jpg or .tiff.
- All fonts must be converted to outlines. All outlines should be converted to objects.
- All colors must be converted to spot colors with PMS colors indicated in the file.
- Stroked paths should be a minimum of 1 point. Strokes less than 1 point are not
guaranteed to print. - Vector images should be a minimum of 300 dpi at 100%. Web graphics are 72 dpi and will print blurry.
Art Requirements for Process or Simulated Process
- Files should be created in RGB mode.
- Gif or JPEG files cannot be used for separating purposes. They contain contamination and cause poor results.
- File resolution should be 300 dpi at actual print size.
- If matching colors, please specify PMS colors or send target hard copy to use as a guide.
- Hard gradations can produce some blending when printing. Try to use a smooth blend when building your halftones in your file. Generally, percentages of color less 4% print as zero. Percentages of color greater than 90% will print as solid due to dot gain.
- All files should be in a layered Adobe Photoshop format. Do not flatten layers or delete paths.
- Remember, the better the quality of artwork, the better the print quality.
